Help & FAQ

How does Quizifyme make a quiz from a video?

We read the video's captions/transcript, run a quick content-safety check, then use AI to write questions grounded only in what the video actually says. Every question includes a source quote linking it back to the transcript, plus a timestamp when the video provides one. You then edit, regenerate, or reorder anything before exporting.

How does the 14-day free trial work?

Teacher Pro includes a 14-day free trial. A card is required to start, but you won't be charged until the trial ends. Cancel anytime in those first 14 days from your Account page and you won't be charged anything. We'll email you a reminder about 3 days before your trial ends, and canceling takes under a minute from Account → Manage billing. If you don't cancel, it converts automatically to Teacher Pro at $12.99/mo.

Can I upload my own video?

Yes. Pro and Max accounts can upload video or audio files directly. Quizifyme transcribes the audio using speech-to-text and then generates questions from the transcript — same workflow as YouTube, but with your own content. Transcription works best when the video's language is set correctly on the upload step.

Can I use a PowerPoint or Google Slides deck instead of a video?

Yes — on any paid plan (Starter and up), upload a PowerPoint (.pptx) file or paste a public Google Slides link. Quizifyme reads the slide text and your presenter notes instead of a video transcript, and every question cites the slide number it came from, the same way video questions can cite a timestamp. Google Slides links need "Anyone with the link can view" turned on — if your deck is private, download it as a .pptx file and upload that instead.

What if a video has no captions?

Some videos don't have captions, or captions can't be fetched automatically — this is the normal case for Vimeo links, and it can happen with YouTube too. When that happens we let you paste the transcript yourself: for YouTube, open the video, click "…more" → "Show transcript", copy it, and paste it in; for Vimeo, paste in the transcript from wherever you have it. Pro users can also upload the video file for automatic speech-to-text transcription instead.

What types of assessments can I create?

Quizifyme generates quizzes, full tests, bell ringers, exit tickets, worksheets, study guides, lecture notes, discussion guides, vocab sheets, and flashcard sets. Each format is tuned to its purpose — flashcards produce term/definition question pairs, tests include a rubric and essay questions, and lecture notes turn a professor's recorded lecture into a chronological outline with timestamps, key definitions, and worked examples.

Is the content safe for students?

Every transcript is screened before questions are written. Clearly inappropriate content is blocked, and borderline material is flagged with a warning so you can review before sharing. Questions are written in professional, classroom-appropriate language matched to your grade level.

Will the questions match my students' level?

Yes — pick a grade level and difficulty and the vocabulary, sentence length, and cognitive demand adjust. Pro adds reading-level adjustments and ELL / IEP/504 accommodations.

What can I export?

Everyone can copy to clipboard, print, and download a plain-text or PDF version. Starter adds DOCX (Microsoft Word) and one-click Google Docs exports. Pro and Max add CSV, Kahoot-compatible XLSX, Quizlet CSV, and one-click Google Forms export — connect your Google account once and Quizifyme builds a real quiz-graded Google Form in your Drive, with correct answers and points already set. (Prefer not to connect Google? A downloadable Apps Script version is still there as a fallback.) All exports respect the answer key and explanations you've set.

How do alternate versions work?

With one click, Pro generates a new form of the same quiz — same topics and difficulty, brand-new questions — so different class periods can't share answers.

What are video timestamps on questions?

When your source has captions or a timed transcript, Quizifyme estimates the moment in the video each question's content comes from and shows it as a clickable timestamp on the answer key, alongside a source quote. It's optional — turn it off with the "Include video timestamps" toggle before you generate — and slide-deck sources cite the slide number instead, since there's no elapsed time to point to.

Do students need accounts?

No. Quizifyme is a tool for teachers, homeschool parents, and professors to create materials. Students never log in, and we never collect student data.

Can my school (or homeschool co-op) share quizzes?

Not yet, and we'd rather say so before you buy. Team and School plans put your teachers on one account with central seat management, per-teacher usage visibility for admins, and invoice or PO billing, and every seat gets Teacher Pro's features and limits. But quizzes stay with the teacher who made them: sharing one to your organization lists it for the rest of the team, and only its author can open, print, or export it. A shared bank any colleague can open and reuse isn't built yet — email us if that's the part your department needs, so we can tell you when it changes.

What happens when I hit my monthly quiz limit?

Each plan includes a monthly allowance of standard quizzes — Starter 10, Pro 25, Max 50 — that resets at the start of your next billing month, and it applies no matter which format you generate: quiz, test, worksheet, study guide, flashcards, and every other format all draw from the same pool. Only new AI generations use your allowance: edits, printing, saving, and exports never count against it. If you hit your limit, you can wait for the reset or upgrade to a higher plan; your saved quizzes always stay accessible either way.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Manage or cancel anytime from your Account page. Cancel during your 14-day Pro trial and you won't be charged at all — you keep trial access through day 14. Cancel a paid subscription and you keep your plan's features until the end of the billing period you've already paid for.

How do I change my password?

Click "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen and enter your email — we'll send you a secure link to choose a new one. That works even if you're already signed in and just want to change a password you already know; there's no separate change-password form in Account settings.
