Accessibility
Quizifyme is built for teachers, homeschool parents, and professors — a group that includes people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and browser zoom or high-contrast settings every day. We want the Service to work for all of them.
Our commitment
We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We haven't sought formal third-party certification, and a product this size keeps changing — so rather than claim we're fully compliant, we're telling you what we've actually checked and what to do if something doesn't work for you.
What we've built in
- Keyboard navigation.Every page can be used without a mouse — navigation, forms, and the quiz generator all work with Tab and Shift+Tab. FAQ questions open and close with Enter or Space, and dialogs (like the export window) trap focus while open and close with Escape, returning focus right back where you were. A "Skip to main content" link is the first stop on every page for keyboard and screen-reader users.
- Visible focus. Every interactive element — links, buttons, form controls, menu items — shows a visible focus ring in both light and dark mode, so you can always see where keyboard focus is.
- Color contrast. Text and interactive elements are checked against the WCAG AA contrast thresholds (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and UI controls) in both our light and dark themes.
- Reduced motion. If your operating system is set to reduce motion, we turn off scroll-in animations and decorative motion sitewide instead of ignoring that preference.
- Screen-reader labels. Icon-only buttons, form fields, and custom controls (like the theme toggle and dropdown menus) carry accessible names, not just a visual icon.
- Large-print exports. Every worksheet, test, and quiz can be printed or exported as a large-print version, for students or teachers who need larger text on the page.
- No student accounts. Students never create an account or log in to Quizifyme, so accessibility needs are never a barrier to a student receiving their assignment — a teacher can always fall back to printing a copy in whatever format a student needs.
Known limitations
We're not aware of any critical or serious accessibility barriers on the Service as of this writing. Some areas — like our exported PDF and DOCX files — inherit accessibility characteristics from the libraries that generate them, and we're still working through full tagged-PDF support. If you run into a specific problem, tell us — see below.
Tell us about a problem
If you use assistive technology and something on Quizifyme doesn't work the way it should, we want to know. Email support@quizifyme.com with the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. We read every message and prioritize accessibility fixes alongside other bugs.
